How Dukan handles your information

A new buyer or seller registers in the Dukan app with a Somalia phone number. Dukan sends a one-time code to that number. Registration also asks for a full name, an email address, a 6-digit app PIN, and a role: buyer, seller, or supplier.

The PIN is stored only as a hash. Dukan does not keep the PIN you type.

A seller also gives a store name and contact details. A supplier gives a trade name, country, and city. The seller sign-in button on this website signs in a seller who already has a portal account. It does not create an account.

This website shows live listings. It does not take a payment and it does not place an order. Search on the landing page only filters the listings already loaded on that page.

Orders are placed in the app. The seller and the buyer do not meet. Goods pass through a Dukan Center. The buyer pays a Dukan account, and the money stays held until the buyer is satisfied or 48 hours after pickup if no dispute is opened. There is no cash on delivery. Pickup is at the center, or home delivery in Mogadishu when the app offers it.

An order can include the delivery address or center, the district, messages about that order, and the payment reference.

A profile photo, a preferred language, a preferred currency, a cart, a wishlist, saved addresses, and notification choices. Listing photos and store logos are stored so the marketplace can show them.

Play Store and App Store links are not live. This page does not ask you to install from a store. Dukan does not sell your phone number or email to other shops.

Account details stay while the account is open. After a deletion request is confirmed, the profile, phone, email, PIN hash, and store contact details for that account are removed or closed.

Orders, payments, center handovers, refunds, and disputes can be kept after the account is closed, for as long as that order or a legal record needs them. Messages tied to an open order or a policy review can also be kept.
